Gregg Yupanki Bautista
Yupanki is a time migrant who once had a past. Lost deep in a valley in a far away place, his memories have become fragmented after losing track of all the wheres and whens he has traveled. Searching for home with only dreams and visions to guide him, he tries to reconstruct his identity as he navigates the unfamiliar terrain.
Along the way, he encounters some of the valley's mysterious residents and explores places that question his perception of identity and reality. Places that hide a secret kept by the valley itself - old spirits also inhabit the landscape. Some are willing to help, but others aim to keep him in the dark.
A companion to the EP of the same name from the conceptual music project Yupanki, Un Lugar Lejos recounts a few memories our wayfaring time migrant has been able to retain. As an illustrated collection of poems and short stories, Un Lugar Lejos: Valleys explores self discovery and inner strength, connections to nature, as well as what it means to belong.
